Obsessed! Listening to this like it’s my JOB

… because it kind of is! Creative PepTalk lights me UP — I go through periods where I just listen to episode after episode from the back catalogue because I need all of the pep I can get. I don’t think I understood how hard creative work is (despite having been an illustrator for the last seven years but never feeling like I’m ‘getting it’), until I started listening to this podcast! I thought it was just me! And it was so life affirming to realize I’m not uniquely messed up or unmotivated or distracted (I also suspect I have ADHD so I especially love when Andy brings the conversation to neurodivergence), creative work is actually SUPER HARD. And complex and nonlinear. I didn’t go to art school so I feel especially lost in the woods when it comes to the business side of things as well as the discipline of developing and maintaining a thriving creative practice, and sometimes I use that as a reason to believe my art career just ‘won’t work out.’ Thanks to Andy and the Creative PepTalk team for helping me find my way through the woods! (And actually I LIKE the woods! There are elixirs and mushrooms and personal insights and critters and revelations and creative wisps in here!) Anyway THANK YOU!!!
