Nailed it

I’ve listened to a lot of podcasts geared towards creatives, but this one is my favorite. Andy is effin pumped 100% of the time, which I will admit was enhanced by my inadvertent speeding up of the podcast (I thought the dude was gonna shoot off into the stratosphere). The content speaks to me because it’s a beautiful mix of uncompromised creative spirit and proven methodology. Fantastic stuff.

Side Quests Work

I came across this podcast when I was browsing on Kickstarter and found the workbook Andy is promoting at the moment. Coincidentally, I was browsing for inspiration for what I now know is called a Side Quest. I’m five years into my creative career and looking back to how I started getting graphic design work, I find it’s through a side quest I did. I started making a small zine, which later grew out to be more of a limited edition indie mag and even got a award at some point. BUT: because I made that zine, a writer came to me and asked me to do his book design. And after that a music festival approached me to do a zine for their programming. Two years later they asked me to do their entire branding. And so on and so fort. This idea is totally legit and I would recommend anyone who is just starting out or having somewhat of a creative entrepreneurial block to visit or revisit the tactics talked about in this podcast. Staying Pepped Up

I look forward to Andy's podcast Every. Dang. Week. As a creative person who's just trying to make it in a really tough industry, I need the encouragement and tough love that Creative Pep Talk offers. Listen for metaphors about pizza, Legend of Zelda, business, stand up comedy, childbirth, and more. Sometimes the podcast goes all over the place on crazy tangents, but if you have an ADD creative personality, you'll be able to follow right along (and will probably enjoy it even more). There's a great mix of aspirational musings on what it means to be a creative, plus concrete advice on how to get your work out in the open and build a business around it.

Perfect Timing. Amazing Podcast.

Inspiration for All!

When Andy J. Pizza speaks I feel like I'm listening to my inner goober soul. I mean goober in the most sincere awesome way. His podcast gives me so much inspiration to start doing creative things again with art and being creative with my kids and just doing more awesomeness.

I'm every Muppet! It's all in me!

Creative Pep Talk has become my go-to source for truly understanding myself and evaluating the challenges of living a creative life. I tend to communicate with humor and I love to laugh, so Andy's down to earth attitude and positive outlook are invigorating to me. He is able to articulate feelings I have been having in a way that I have not been able to communicate myself. Sometimes I will listen to one of these podcasts and just forward the link to my spouse and my friends and say "hey, listen to this! This is what I was trying to say the other day, but it came out all wrong when I said it." Another great thing about Andy is that he is okay with imperfection and focuses more on growth and discovery. This is what I need. The other podcasts I have tried to listen to about creative careers have really stressed me out. I'd finish listening and feel terrible about all the things I'm not doing or doing well. Andy's podcast helps me work through a lot of feelings and struggles that are really important to me at this stage in my career. When I'm done listening I feel like I can do anything. Thanks, Andy!

Andy is a great motivator and has some seriously wonderful creative business tips to help make anyone's creative dreams come true. He is very real and unapologetically authentic to who he is. Recommended to Any Creative

Hilariously inspiring, what I really needed

Just discovered this podcast today and binged 4-5 episodes already. Andy is such a pleasure to listen to; he's so knowledgable, experienced and truly empathetic to the starving/struggling/tortured creatives in the world. I really feel like I'm getting a pep talk from a bestfriend who just wants the best for me. From another breakfast hating introvert to another: PLEASE please pleaseee don't ever stop ;)

Freakin Awesome

I can’t remember how I stumbled upon this podcast, but sure glad I did. I just listened to around 10 straight hours of podcast “gold” during a recent road trip. I’m just in the beginning stages of a creative “side hustle” & find Andy’s advice to be very practical as well as inspiring. This podcast is Freakin Awesome!

I'm so grateful for Andy and his show!

This is exactly what the title says! It is a fab creaive pep talk -- especially when you're feeling low or unmotivated. Andy is so thoughtful and kind in his encouragement -- there is a lot to ponder, but also tonnnnnns of practical things to help your career. I highly recommend this to anyone trying to make a go of being a creative of any kind. Illustrator, writer, musician, etc!

Delightful

This is just what I've been looking for in a design podcast. Andy is an entertaining host and the topics are inspiring and insightful. A great source for all creative entreprenuers to find some motivation and an extra boost of encouragement to keep pushing on :D

So pepped up I could cry

I've been listening to this podcast for ages now and it never ceases to inspire me. It took me an episode or two to really get into it. But now I am into it I am so into it. Sometimes Andy hits the nail on the head so directly that it feels like he's looked into your soul. If you sometimes feel in despair about what you're doing creatively then this podcast is for you. Sometimes I get so pepped up by it I could cry.

Creative Savior

I discovered Creative Pep Talk about 8 months ago when I was in a creative rut. I had no clue what I wanted to do moving forward, and had found myself at the tail end of a career failure I thought I’d never be able to overcome. Hearing Andy talk about his own failures and the journey he took after those failures has made me realize this is ALL part of the journey. It’s not the end of the road! And I needed to hear that. His advice and suggestions for a creative career are funny, heartfelt and practical. I can’t say enough good things about Andy J. Pizza and Creative Pep Talk. It seriously saved my creative life.
