Gold Mine For Creatives

When I first started listening, I made a list of episodes that were worth going back to for repeat listens—but I soon realized, there was never an episode that did not meet that criteria. Every single episode on this podcast is worth listening to multiple times. Each week I listen, I feel like I’m sitting on an absolute gold mine of creative information and inspiration. This podcast is solely what inspired me to pursue a creative career selling my own artwork and I could not be happier doing so. Andy J. Pizza is truly my hero, and I couldn’t be more thankful for the work he has put into making this podcast a reality.

Ok, bizarrely relatable

This is my first time hearing this podcast. Ok, I don’t know where to begin, but I want to thank this creative soul, I work through physical barriers of numbness in my arms, hands, and much more due to who knows what kind of autoimmune disorder. Needless to say, my creative journey relates to his journey. 20 plus years of struggle process, but fulfilling filthy process. Art and life are messy, art shows me a deeper meaning in life. Which propels me to just keep swimming. Ironically, a dear artist mentor who finds my projects meaningful, suggested I find inspiration to keep going. I have found relatable “gunnie” we’re down here and their up there advice in this podcast. Right on, I am riding on in my art journey. Look forward to more gracious feedback from myself. Thanks for making this podcast!

Jack Black in School of Rock Vibes, But Profitable and Not Salty

Love this podcast so much! Andy J PIZZZAAA is encouraging, positive, true to himself, and his art. I always feel refreshed and less competition with others in the creative industry when I give it a listen. The vibes remind me of Jack Black in School of Rock - ready to make life fun and meaningful. Except unlike Jack Black in that movie Andy is actually paying the bills with his art so like, credibility 😂

Start with Why?

Whenever someone asks me for a podcast recommendation I always ask them if they’ve listened to Creative Pep Talk. It’s fitting that the podcast with a theme song by the band Why? is the go-to listen for people trying to figure out why they’re wanting a creative career and what they can do to help them succeed. The answer lies within. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Creative Career Life-line

This podcast has been the missing link between what I learned during my time earning my BFA and creating work towards my career goals. I graduated from a public university in June of 2020 right as the lockdowns started. I’ve spent nearly two years wandering aimlessly with no direction on what I need to do to create work for the career I want, an imaginative realist painter for the fantasy genre. I found this podcast last month and have been listening from the beginning of this feed to around 75 episodes in. These episodes have answered almost every question I have had about what I should do with this career field. In one month’s time, I’ve created more work in a month than I have done any other month since graduating college, I have more ideas for original works, and I finally have an actual business plan with clear goals and timelines. This hasn’t been an easy transition for me, I’m 41 years old and am doing this as a midlife career switch. I went through college with a wife and two kids, and being the stay-at-home parent has not made work easy. I can say for sure though, that thanks to this podcast, I have found a way to make it work that I don’t know if I would have found without this podcast.

Best Podcast For Creatives, By Far!

As any artist knows, balancing a day job and artistic pursuits can be draining. Last year, I was looking for a podcast that could give me new outlook on my creative journey. It didn’t take long at all for this to become my favorite podcast I look forward to every week! The interviews are great and all, but honestly my favorite episodes are when I just get to hang out one-on-one with Andy J. Pizza. His message is always just what I need to hear. For example, recently I was feeling a little down because I had an interview for a job in the arts that l was really excited about, but didn’t end up getting. But then I started drawing and queued up the latest episode of Creative Pep Talk, “Return to Art Island.” Before long, I was smiling as I drew, and I had never felt prouder to be an artist. Thank you, Andy, for always being there to help me and so many others stay pepped up!

It’s clever and the editing is good

I love diving into the how of creative process so this is one of the podcasts I subscribe to. Love the solo episodes… it’s clever, thoughtful, funny and the sound effects are woven into the whole experience in a way that’s pretty delightful.

I’m a Functional Medicine Health and Life Coach, so, you know, seemingly NOT a creative who would LOVE a podcast on staying creatively pepped. But Andy J is a friend you want at your table, no matter who you are and what you’re trying to do in this world. Creative Pep Talk is the REAL DEAL!

I’m a fine art painter and mixed media artist of 61. Yes, I’m that demographic but I’d like to think I can still be relevant and have something to say with my art. I stumbled across this podcast over a year ago and quickly gulped up all that I had missed. Andy Pizza gets to the heart of a creative practice no matter what your art. His intelligent, philosophical and brilliant weaving of the psychology of the creative with actual steps one can take to improve that practice is divine. There are no shortcuts to good art or the journey… that’s “art island”, but there are ways of thinking and being and moving forward and Andy is an excellent guide. The work and thoughtfulness that goes into this by he and his team is evident. Sometimes if I’m driving I will think, I need to write this down, but then I realize I can access later. There’s a deep reverence that comes through for artists and creatives of all kinds and that sincerity of purpose is so satisfying in a world that still feels like it doesn’t always honor the gifts of the artist. Thank you Andy and Team for making a podcast that in extraordinary, entertaining and so valuable to me. Big fan! Eloise

How can one NOT be inspired by this show ?!?!

Words can’t describe how much this podcast means to me! I am a visual artist and also a stay at home parent and am in a season of my life where my small children need me tremendously….so listing to Andy’s podcast regularly helps me stay connect, inspired and motivated to continue my practice even when some days it feels impossible. ANYONE can benefit from this show! The way Andy shares his knowledge and insights is always incredibly kind and sensitive - he understands that artists struggle and frames each of his episodes in an accessible way that makes it impossible not be Peped up! Thank for all of your hard work, I always look forward to the next episode.

I feel like this show is the more updated version of watching a Bob Ross video! I have been slowly coaxing the whimsical creative girl that is me to come out and play, and it is all because of the creative podcasts! I feel like every episode is geared toward what I am dealing with in some manner. I love to craft while I am listening to you. Love it!

I listen to the podcast as I am working at my studio. I really like the upbeat nature of it. Thank you for the valuable tidbits. As an artist, I plan many of my pieces meticulously by factoring in how to engage the viewer with my work. Your techniques involving the use of psychology are incredibly helpful.

Really beautiful, fun, and practical advice for artists

I cannot thank you enough for this podcast, especially the episode “For When You Feel Like Giving Up,” which I could listen to repeatedly because the advice is SO GOOD. It’s inspiring and practical for all artists at any point in their careers, but it’s like an especially warm hug to artists early in their career who are lost in the dark wilderness of the art world. I am so happy to have found this podcast and want to thank Andy for all he’s doing for the art community!

Thank you for not trying to sell me anything!

Andy’s (I call him Andy because I feel like we are friends) podcast is really inspiring, and I will tell you why: beyond the amazing content, he stay’s consistent and he is not trying to sell me anything (yeah if he has a new book he will talk about it but it’s not a weekly sales call). So many podcasts these days are an obvious lead into a workshop, a group or a book and it's so tiring and off-putting. I feel like Andy just come’s from the heart and wants to help people while entertaining and telling stories. Thanks for leading with love, your vision is really clear and inspiring.

This podcast was MADE for me.

This podcast is just the kick in the backside I needed. So many times, Andy has said just what I needed to hear in order to get me over a hump—from being stymied by fear of failure to feeling alone in my artistic struggle to figure out why I do what I do, and push through the hard, the messy and the ugly. It’s the truest most awesome podcast I have ever had the pleasure of listening to.
